AFR 215cc's or TFS 215cc's?
Hey all just trying to decide what heads I want to get. I have narrowed it down to these 2 head choices. TFS 215cc heads and the newly released AFR 215cc heads. I plan on using the following parts with the heads..
- Stock rockers w/ Comp Cams Trunion upgrade
- Shim kit if I go with TFS for the stock rockers
- LS7 Lifters
- LS2 Guide trays
- Cometic head gaskets
- ARP Head studs
- New proper length PR's
End desired compression will be 10:5.1 - 11:0.1 somewhere. I plan to achieve this by a combination of milling the heads and different thicknesses of the head gaskets.
Both are similarly priced as well as flow numbers. Right now I am leaning towards the AFR's because no one really has them. What are everyone's thoughts on these heads and which would you go with?

The AFR215s will be a cheaper route, since you don't have to buy aftermarket rockers to use with them. And they should be real close hp/trq wise, if not better when compared neck and neck against the TFS215s.

yea but you can use the stock rockers with the TFS 215cc's you just need to use a shim kit which Thunder Racing sells in a package for $299.99 which includes the Comp Cams Trunion upgrade, new pushrods which are the proper length depending on the build, and the shim kit. I will not get aftermarket rockers.

What about a set of the Performance Induction 215 heads? They have an 11 degree valve angle, and you can use the ls3 intake rockers and stock exhaust rockers, and you have a multiple array of choices in configurations if you want to go bigger later.
They may be a little more expensive now, but will net better results and save money later.

$$$$ no object what I would have gone with. IIRC around $2800 for the 215's.....

The AFR 215s are brand new. There is not enough 3rd party info to show if they're better than the Trick Flow 215s so right now you're going to mostly get opinions on their power potential.
