Mystery Head?
#41
In to see the dyno sheet. I can verify that the casting number on the driver side head is 853, just like on my 99, because I checked it out this weekend. Guess only the original owner knows if its got a baby cam and head work done, without pulling them, which is too much trouble just to find out. We always thought the car ran pretty strong for the limited amount of mods on it, compared to mine.

So forgetting about the wierd upswing after 5350 RPM I think it's about a 326 RWHP / 335 RWTQ car on a mustang dyno, which is still pretty strong for a lid/P&P TB/LS6 intake/cut out car through the stock manifolds.

for some reason i remember this threat while i was working on the car and decided to take a look at my heads casting # and this is the what i have...now my question has anyone seen this before or is this another mystery head?

Nothing odd about that. It's the 806 "perimeter bolt" casting from 97-98 LS1's. PS: you need a new coolant sensor.

i have an 853 head also on my 2000 ss...i don't know if it has more power than normal though cause i'm 20 and the car i had before this was a 1989 nissan 240sx so of course it feels fast as fack haha
and i've never had it on a dyno or anything

Your heads are stock my friend. I have them on my car. Nothing special about them at all.
