d1sc or fully forged 383 ls6?
I need some advice from you guys where to turn to. I have a 99 z28 with an ls6. Its putting down 436 on motor and 336rwhp and im wanting to try to reach 600+ to the rear tires through my 4l60e but I want to be able to keep it street/strip with a mild idle. I was told the stock pistons can handle 700 hp but I'd like to make sure from any of you that is accurate. My only concern is I don't want to blow my motor if I leave it stock. what type of boost and hp numbers can i run on my car SAFELY!?

I can't quote exact specifics, but whether or not the stock pistons can HANDLE 700HP, I know they won't get you there lasting long. Plus pistons aren't your first concern, IMO.
Any goal of 600+ will need something stronger in the bottom end to make it reliable, and consistent. Something will break if you race it (up to and including high-end street pulls on off-ramps) and quick.. There's more to just supercharging a car and hoping for 600rwhp.
Do the forged bottom end now. Then later when you decide to supercharger/turbocharge/spray it, you have a bottom end ready to take a beating.

Surely someone can offer some advice on this. I want to keep it streetable wild a mild idle. Can a simple D1sc kit net me my 600 rwhp goal with stock internals or do I need to go forged?

Will 8 pounds of boost get me close? I'm looking to buy either the procharger kit now or a forged shortblock and switch over a lot of parts from my motor. This car has been a 5 year work in progress and I finally have the spending money to get close where I want it to be but I don't want to grenade the motor if 8 pounds is to high on stock internals.lol

Is your buddies car have a rough idle though? Sounds very impressive. If I could putthat down I'd definitely be happy but my 336 rwhp just ain't cutting it. Thanks you guys for the suggestions. Trying to get some responses sometimes feels like pulling teeth so I really appreciate it everyone.
