. and 98 a4's are some of the lowest dyno'ing ls1's to begin with. Here is why:
y pipe w/ kitties, Flowmaster muffler
If you are running the MAC cats and Flowmaster you are seriously choking your power. Pick up an ORY and O2 simms and run a cutout.
Dyno with those changes and I'll bet you'll be up 20RWHP easily through that loose converter.
Also check your wires.

yah with my borla and lid and stock converter i only dynoed at 297/306 at the wheels so add an unlocked converter and some headers to the mix and thats about right really...dont be a dyno queen with an automatic youll never win...put on some slicks go to the track and run a mid 12's and buy yourself a beer damnit!

I would at least add a cut out.
The HPP3 may be getting you by but a dyno tune would probably wring a little more power out too.

You have two major problems as you stand right now:
1) It appears that you have the stock LS1 intake.
2) It appears that you have the MAC catalytic converters and a Flowmaster muffler. Those are seriously choking your exhaust.
Take a look at your graph and notice that the horsepower curve plateaus at about 5300 rpms. The heads can't breath past that point, most likely due to the intake and exhaust restrictions.
Stock heads, stock cam, high stall converter, 4.11s...plus an SLP MAF and the HPP3. You might consider dropping the last two as they are a hit or miss mod.
A friend of mine with a 98 M6 (lid & catback) dynoed 280.6 rwhp...so you shouldn't feel bad about your numbers. 98s just dyno low.
