Don't bother with cranking compression measurements
on a high overlap cam. Your CR at higher RPM is what
it was (more like numerical CR). Cam only affects the
accuracy of the cranking compression test, for the
worse, because both valves are open and you lose a
little of the compression stroke - when the piston is
moving slow. You get it back, up top.

He means that with increased overlap your cranking cylinder pressure (what your cylinders see when you do a compression check with a gage) decreases. But, your dynamic (moving) cylinder pressure is usually higher at higher RPMs (making more power) with increased cam duration (all else being equal.) Still with me? Good. Your static (not moving), or calculated CR will be the same regardless of the cam.

Something else to consider. LSA/ICL will also play a factor in dynamic, or overall compression.....For example...

A cam on a 112 LSA with an added 4 degrees of advance would be on a 108 ICL. This allows for LESS bleedoff, therefor increasing cranking compression and dynamic. The same exact cam on a 112 LSA with no advance, would be on a 112 ICL, bleed off much more cylinder, and reduce overall dynamic levels...

Kind of confusing @ first, but gets easier to understand..

So Running Patriot Stage 2 LS6 heads (59cc)and a X1 cam would make a good Combo?
