I currently have a 1998 Midnight Blue TA, and i and going to take the LS1 out for modifications... I allready have a flowmaster exhaust for the car and thats the only mod that i have done to it. So im thinking my HP is around 300... NOW I HAVE 1000 DOLLARS TO SPEND ON MODS...WHAT WILL GIVE ME THE BEST HP/ FOR THE $.... PLEASE LIST WHAT YOU GUYS HAVE DONE OR PLANNING ON DOING... CAN I GET UP TO THE 450HP WITH 1000 $$$

Probably lots of nitrous, but I doubt you'll get to 450 rwhp.

you will not get to 400rwhp with only $1k period. Is it an A4 or M6? Maybe a good set of LT headers to start with and go from there.

Get some used LT's and then get a used cam, but new springs, used retainers, and new pushrods. If you play your cards right you might get in around the 1000.00 mark. Hey, I could get you started with a new set of Mac headers for a 98-99 that are sitting in my basement. Make me an offer I cant refuse!

You could always go with a Hotcam kit from SPDC >>>>>>>.

That and some headers and find a used LS6 intake and all the free mods and you would be close.

Well this will be over 1000 but it will get you well over 400rwhp.
PPstage 2 5.3 heads $899 on sale for 98's
Used cam $200
Used set of Mac headers $300
I know its 1400 but it can get you what you want W/O the bottle
PS the flowmaster will not go well with 400hp
