Default F1 cam install complete. First impressions ***UPDATE WITH TRACK TIMES***

I just finished up the swap over from the TR224 to the Speedtek F1 cam. All I can say is HOLY S@#T!!!!! Feels like I have a 75 shot vs the 224 cam. The 224 would was a great cam, and would pull hard up to about 6200 rpm, then it would start wheezing. The F1 starts making big power when you hit 3000 rpm, up to the rev limiter at 6800. This cam pulls like a mule, and on the first run, I was constantly bouncing off the limiter. As far as drivability is concerned, the F1 seems to be smoother than the 224 at lower rpms, with little valvetrain racket. I just redynoed two nights ago with the TR224, and made a consistent 380-386rwhp. I will be going back this Thursday to redyno with the new cam. Also, there is little to no surging at low speeds with an 850 rpm idle. As others have said about this cam and the X1 cam, as soon as you hit 3000 rpms, it's like hangin on to a rocket. Not much lope to it at idle either, at least not through the SLP dual/dual exhaust. Will update on dyno results next week. Best thing I've done to the car yet!

Im looking for a cam sometime soon, wondering how much that set you back, where you got it from and how much the install was. Also, what other mods do you have? Thanks.

Sound's like you have a stump puller What valve spring are you using? Make sure you update us with your new number's.

I didn't see gears in your sig. Doesn't it take a while to hit 6800 rpm with the 3.42s?
When would you say the 224 started pulling? And don't be afraid to post dyno sheets.

I agree, THis calls for a back to back graph.

ST - I'm using the 918's for now. This is what Speedtek recommends, plus I spent a while on the phone with Comp, and they seemed confident that the springs would take that kind of lift. But when the LS6 heads get here, I will be going with the 987 duals.
G2 - I'll post the graphs when I get them. I'm expecting a good gain.

LONSLO- can't wait to meet you... when are you coming to get your rear end. I talked to Scott the other day and he said he was almost finished. I think your going to need that POS to put that kinda power down. What are you doing with your old cam????

Well, the results are not quite as good as I had hoped, but I'm happy considering I still have stock heads. Lowest number of three pulls was 395, and the highest was 403rwhp. I'm figuring I gained an honest 15 rwhp with this swap. THe biggest surprise is that the torque also jumped from around 375 to 390 ft-lbs. This was on the same dyno as last week, with identical weather conditions. Now to get some LS6 heads thrown on there and...

It would be a HUGE help if you could post the dyno graph!
