comp 2010 master lobes
comp 2010 master lobes look at top of page 18... ( http://www.compcams.com/information/...obesection.pdf ) Then lsk lobes listed on sites where you can make your own custom cam have the wrong lifts advertised? Is this a misprint? or do i have the wrong pdf?
Im looking at the first lobe 215 and it shows .666 lift with a 1.7 rocker. Sites are showing the 1.6 lift spec which would b an issue. Has this been covered or am i seeing things?
When all else fails, break out your calculator. The 1.6 column appears to be the advertised lift at 1.7. The lobe lift * 1.7 is as follows:
.370 * 1.7 = .6290
.372 * 1.7 = .6324
.374 * 1.7 = .6358
.376 * 1.7 = .6392
.378 * 1.7 = .6426
.370 * 1.7 = .6290
.372 * 1.7 = .6324
.374 * 1.7 = .6358
.376 * 1.7 = .6392
.378 * 1.7 = .6426
The lsk lobe chart shows the lift with 1.7s no math needs to b done. The lifts they show r way bigger then what the sponsors list on the sites. Am I making sense? The lifts u provided r listed as the 1.6 lifts on the chart. These r what the sponsors list and its wrong. Unless the pdf is wrong. We all know it makes no sense to list a 1.6 lift rating when all ls1s come with 1.7 or better. Basically what I'm getting at is look at the 1.7 lift column those numbers r what people will end up with if this is true info.

If you do the math, the lobe lift x the rocker ratio gives you the lift at the valve. The values I calculated above appear in the 1.6 column.

They list the different ratios for all the lobes, not just what came on the LS1's (1.7). This is because other platforms sometimes use "LS1" lobes on their cores and see what they do. Some sponsors on this forum and other LSx forums use lobes that were not built for LSx engines and sell alot of them. In many cases, they've done the R&D on this and it works great, but in other cases it can be VERY hard on the valvetrain and cause instability and ultimately broken parts.

Yea, I saw that. For the amount of data that was compiled for a catalog of that size, I can imagine it'd be next to impossible to get them all correct! Over-all though, they do a great job on it each year, and it's as easy as multiplying the lobe lift by your rocker ratio to get your valve lift anyway
