thought about doing the tune by frost through mail but lucky me he's only about 90 miles away from me (i'm near DC and he's in Richmond). So If I go the tune route, which I'm probably going to do, I think i'll go for the full out dyno tune so it's perfect. His dyno tunes are very reasonable and he gets great reviews.

As far as the long tubes, on these cars do you have to get a new cat pipe and then use a regular catback? Do you have to jack up the engine to ge them on or can you slide them through?

And last, you said you blow off the tires with that setup, do you have the stock cam?

you need long tubes a ory and a catback and the car will be a night and day difference. the cam you chose is nit ideal for stock manifolds. you can keep upgrading all the induction parts to get more air in but you need to let all that air out aswell and the full stock exhaust just aint cuttin it

Frost would be a very good choice imo...

you will have to jack the car up and do the headers from the bottom... The race style w/ no emissions might fit thru the top but im not 100%. Yes you will need a new y-pipe.

Yes stock cam... mods are in sig. got a dyno graph with the car when I bought it... It put down 320whp 330wtq, with LT headers w/ ory, fm cat back exhaust, 1.85 rockers... but still had the stock lid and tb running mid 11's afr. Since I bought the car I added slp lid, ftra, and a ported tb. It picked up about 3mph and 3tenths from those mods.

Sounds like a full exaust is in order then.... little outside my budget right now, i'll have to save up, got a baby comin and I have to use o.t. money to play with the car. Going to pick up the lid. And I ported on the throttle body a little more and I must have missed something because it woke up the throttle a little this time and it feels much better up top. It may just have been that the engine needed to learn a little. I live in an emissions area so I will need to have a catted y. Not looking forward to jacking the engine up to do the longtubes though

As far as "ask patrick g or get an eps cam" I don't know who patrick g is and I just put a cam in I'm not going through the cost and trouble of changing it!

Lid, headers, frost. In that order.

There is some serious power left on the table. At least 30 RWHP, and most importantly a safe and effective tune.

I run 12.2-12.0s at 112 MPH with stock cam and your car with lid, exhaust, ported TB and a Frost Tune would wax me. Full weight even with the spare tire and jack. Get the lid, headers and port your TB. Then bring the car to Frost. You will be pleased with the car once he is done with it.

tsp rumbler catback, check. Sorry for my ignorance but can you get a catted y pipe that will work with lt's? I can't go off road pipe for visual emissions in VA. I thought about getting an ory and cutting my cat off, then cutting the ory and welding it inline, is this a bad idea? I can do all the welding myself.

Been a while, had some developments and wanted to relay information....

1st... I went with the tsp catback it kicks ***.

The other day I pulled my pcv hoses off and found a HUGE hole. Looks like I had a giant vacuum leak..... Well, I fixed the problem and it woke the car up like woah.

So I have to say that this cam + ls6 intake + tsp rumbler = good combo for streetcar. Just wanted to put that out there since I was less than impressed with the cam before.

Sending the computer off to frost this week for a tune, can't afford the full dyno, just bought a new silverado so have to conserve for a while.

LONG TUBE 1 3/4 OR 1 7/8 PRIMARY HEADERS ....... this engine responds verywell to exhaust gains ..... then check out the 222 226 cam from eps <<<< great grind .... but while your in the cam & valve train swap ... take a tour to your local junkyard & search for a set of 243 casting cylinder heads or 799 cylinder heads & ofcourse a 41" Com head Gasket (TSP) & you are definitly above the 400rwhp with good DYNO tuning.

I just put in a cam not doing it again, no desire to pull the heads either, didn't you read the title of the thread???
