Well I bought a stock LQ4 when the #7 came apart in my LS1, slapped my MTI heads, and Cam into it, and bought a Fast 92/92 to supply the air, some SVO green tops to help with fuel, and the Fast fuel rails, to ensure I had the fuel there to supply.. Along with a new 255 walbro intake..
I had been taking the car to the track, and trying to dial it in there, running a best of 11.82s at 116mph, I wasnt upset, just knew something wasnt right.. so I took it to my buddy Nate at All out Performance in Fresno, Ca, he is a GREAT tuner, and right off the bat, he knew something was wrong, I pulled up, and he told me he thinks he heard the car missing, I thought he was just full of it, so I didnt think much of it, then we pull the the PCM fuse, and the oil cap, crank her over a few times, and sure as **** its puffing like a train!! I went ahead and had him put it on the rollers, and get the tune close enough I could run it, until it falls apart, with ALOT of tweaking we pull 404hp/365tq. Thats ALITTLE under what I was hoping for, even with the TH350, 4200stall, and 12bolt.. But knowing what the issue was, and that the car was working well in all other aspects was good..
I take it home, and compression test it, yup.. TWO bad holes.. with a best reading of 250psi, I had #5 at 140psi, and #7 at 100psi!!!
So really, I made over 400 at the tire on about 6 cyl?? haha..
