Default lq4 lq9 heads?

whats the differance? i know the lq4 is out of a gto and has dished pistons and has a 317 casting, the lq9 that comes in a truck and his flat top pistons and higher compression.. but what is the differance between the heads? anything??

The heads on the 6.0 out of a GTO will be casting 243, same heads as the LS6 with different valves. The 317's flow similar to the 243's but they have a 72cc Combustion Chamber compared to the 64cc chamber on the 243's.

If you are going FI the 317's would be better because of the chamber size.

so running 317s is better for boosted cars right? bacause they will be lowering compression and flowing more air? correct?

I'm not sure about flowing more air, but yes they will lower compression in comparison to stock heads and allow more room in the combustion chamber.
