Are you sure it's even a 408?

Either the car is loaded to hilt and weighs 4,000lbs with a huge stereo system, extremely bad tune, or the motor is shot.

A 408 even if limited with AFR205/Fast 78/Medium cam should trap more then 115mph. I'd run a compression test.

Something doesn't make sense. Your 60' is decent... Trap speed seems way low to me.
You know I'm tired of reading people throwing wild claims around like this. Sure there are cam only LS1 cars beating 115mph but they're not full body cars and probably barely weight 3k lbs. His guy is down a good 60hp from where he could be for sure and the intake and cam are his main problems.

My cousin runs at the same track he does and with a fully built 404 stroker in his TA has only ran a best of 11.19 @ 119.81 mph because his car has only wheels and tires for weight reduction and the DA was well over +2000. Those numbers don't sound right to you? Here is his build...

LQ4 iron block 404 11.10 CR
FAST 102/102
TEA ported TFS 225 heads
Pat G custom specd EPS cam
1 7/8 headers
Performabuilt LVL2
Super Street Fighter 3600 stall
Strange 12 bolt with 3.73 gears

Unhappy nice

Nice run....if I can get mine to do that I'll be happy.Going back Oct the 1st or 2nd.I'll be off that weekend.I hope to have my billet specialties and skinnys then.I am also going from a 26 in M/T DR to a 27 in hoosier QTP.I know going w/the billet spec. & skinnys will shave sme weight off.I have zr1 17/11 and 17/9's now.I would like to get it tuned between now and then too but the new tires and wheels tore my pocket book up.

You'll definitely need to do some work to the top end of that motor if your looking for good track times. When I originally sold Chris this setup, he was so concerned about it being a reliable, fun to drive street car. Don't ask me why he put a 10pt cage in there (I had nothing to with that).

I don't remember his rwhp numbers before he setup the nitrous system, but I think it's around the mid to upper 400 range after the re-tune. He was so conservative with this car. I truly believe with tuning and some weight loss, you would see a significant improvement. Other than that, you'll need to follow the advise of some of the posters that responded here.

it's already been beat to death, but your whole top end could use some help.

I am building a 409 right now, I got the ETP LS7 heads, 102mm port matched intake, 102mm NW throttle body, 104mm lid (no Maf, plan on running SD tune) and the cam is a Pat G custom, sitting at 251/265 .637/.637

i am also using a 5500 stall. but this is a track only car.

For right now, I have 373's and 26" tires, i am sure one or both will be changed eventually.
