Default another cam suggestion Q..i know,i know..

hey guys been going back and forth on cam sizes..ive been looking at the TSP 228 and torquer 2/3..now it doesnt have to be a tsp cam just using those cams as examples of what im looking at..

my car is a 01 6speed,4.10s,long tubes and stock ws6 muffler with future e cutout,255 pump with greentops and ported TB,pully..future maybe intake and heads but not near future..it is my DD with cali traffic and streets lol

i want something thats going to have low to mid range and be a great street car and dont car if its noticeable but not that noticeable lol...dont care to much for high end since ill go to the track every once in a blue moon..had a ms4 in a old car before and currently has a gx53(which it came with)..i want to just slap something in and not say i should have gone bigger you know?

please let me know your thoughts please..thanks

john

Your best bet is to get in touch with either Patrick G, Geoff at EPS, or Phil at Advanced Induction and tell them your goals and they will spec you something for your wants/needs. The 228 is a popular cam. A 226/230 cam is another good choice. Being you are in Cali though I would be careful being you have emissions testing and Cali is hardcore when it comes to the sniffer.

The wacko's in norcal only apply the rules to the rest of the state......
Lots of areas in norcal are test on sale only....
Only sale only areas in socal are in the middle of nowhere desert. -open desert-
no offense to op intended.

EPS 222/226 cam
Read the several current PatG threads from last 2 days.

Yeah, a 224/228, 226/226, 226/230, 228/228, Anything in this range should work good for you. You can go with a custom grind through TSP with any of those sizes I listed, or in off the shelf grinds through FMS, and EPS is also worth a good look.

Exactly, any of these would be a good choice. I went with the 226/230 through EPS. The new EPS Lobes are showing great results. Should have some results here soon.

the 228 cam is a good solid cam. i honestly wouldnt go smaller than that. I think between the 228/Torquer 2/3 your maybe looking at 7 hp difference between them. I would do something like the Vengeance VRX5 or the TSP 233/239.

The torquer is a little big for a daily driver that will always see traffic, a 226/230 or something around there should be good on a 113/114lsa and the 4.10s should make it easier to live with.
