All of Carteks cams make for a very streetable car Erik,Thats one of their strong points.

No race gas in Brents car and IMO ALL of the tuners who make 450RW or more flycut the pistons Erik,The bottom line is the shortblock is STOCK!!!

I talked to JD yesterday,he told me your gonna be a happy man too...
Good luck braah...

I disagree with that statement.....my car is making about that power now (made 440rwhp before YT rockers and EWP), and I have heads milled .010 and no flycutting.

I know of some others making that power without flycutting too....and yes, my #'s were all on multiple independent dynos.

All it takes is a good set of say TEA/AS 5.3L/LS6 heads w/o milling and a G5X-2 or 3 cam or an FMS cam, etc.....to make those kinds of #'s.

440RW ISNT 450RW
So until then its not FACTUAL.

I'd like a list of ALL these 450RW setups u know of that dont have flycut pistons.
And make sure there threw a 12-bolt or 9in w/4.10 gears.

Your setup is making great power verbs...
I cant take that away from ya..

That's awsome Brent. But I still want a rematch. Hopefully I will make it to the Tuner Shootout (I'm working on a few things) but if not I'm guessing you'll be here for the NvsS. Open the headers and rip off a .40 will ya.

So is this setup going to be able to beat the majority of the Super Strokers out there....they don't seem to be putting the numbers down like the 346's.

Would this be a better combo to drive on the street or should a person go S.S.?

I had a heads and cam car put down 457 rwhp through a 12 bolt 4.10s.

stock bottom end, untouched pistons......

TR230/AS stage II heads.

I said "about that power now." Factual no, probable, sure. I'll have some more dyno#'s for you within a month.

Killer Numbers. Nice job guys!

What all does flycutting involve? Do you have to disassemble the bottom end to do it?

It almost already does (10.58@130.6) ...if this car can drop another tenth+ (it should see 10.4s I would think) at say 131+ it would be quite competitive against MANY stroker cars.
The 346s are really shining now.

It's simply cutting a slight valve (half a valve) shaped indentation into the top of the pistons...motor does not need to be disassembled to do it, just the heads have to come off.

There were a couple Cartek Stage IIX H/C cars over 450....... the IIX cam was a 224/228. I'm sure those pistons were not flycut on a cam that size, should be plenty of clearance.

I just recently saw an overlay of a H/C 346 and 383 that both peaked around 453rwhp. The 383 definatley had more power and torque under the curve. Both were in identical cars. I would definately take the 383.
