Default rod question?

how strong are stock 6.0 rods? came from a truck is that makes any difference.

im building my 1st lsx motor a 6.0 and would like some combos to go by

What are you planning on doing with the motor? How much power? Any power adders? What pistons are you looking at running? Post up and we'll be able to tell you if they will work or not.

cathedral port heads so early 6.0 ? bare with me guys in still new but am willing to learn.

goal is 500-525 horse 11:5-1-12:1 compression no power adders. drag racing motor for a 3100lbs 64 nova. goal is 10.90's

i havent picked out a set of pistons yet because i havent beenable to find many.

ive had my ls2 6 liter rods to 650RWHP @ 6800 rpms worked great till i upped the power alot

keep the Revs below 7 and you should be fine just dont get super heavy pistons and pins

heads are 853 casting mildly ported. 650hp damn!? thats pretty good.

i looked at a few pistons and im think the JE 11:5-1 pistons and have the heads milled down a bit

as far as a camshaft the long blockc omes with a trex cam but i wasnt sure if that would run good with a carb since it is a FI cam

Bear in mind you've got powdered metal rods, which means they're forged. In stock for they're very stout, just heavy compared to aftermarkets

so basically if i recon them with some arp 2000's they will be good for the build

Yea should be pretty good if there the ls2 rods and with arp bolts , but shop around im not sure how much the bolts cost. but there a few aftermarket rods sold at a good price too
