Nah I left it alone. I read that some people liked to polish it up to reduce carbon build up but i left it alone. The only thing I did was take the sharp edge off of the chamber from having the heads milled.

Any suggestions as to what I should use to clean the valves? These things are black as night. I dont want to sand them and take off material and not have them seal well.

Soak them in a strong solvent, like carb cleaner. My machine shop sand blasted mine though.

A wire wheel on a grinder works great to clean up the valves.
