Default Ls1 rebuild time

So its time to rebuild. Need some opinions. Im planning on boring it .30 over, wanting a good cam with mid - top range power, but yet streetable at the same time. Im not familiar with cams as far as numbers go so id like some opinions on this.

Gonna need a lot more info to help you out. What vehicle? What are you going to use it for? Do you have any mods currently?

02 camaro ss. Only mod really is underdrive pulley. Buying long tubes during the build. Im not looking to build a monster, but wanting a beefy streetable build, something that i can drive a distance without worry. Id be happy with 450 - 500hp.

If you still have the factory aluminum LS1 block your not going to be able to bore it .30 over unless you are planning on resleeving the block.

450-500 RWHP without FI is quite a lot.

With what you are looking for you need to spend alot with good heads like ( Trick Flow 215s AFR 215s, PRC 215s ) with a cam that I don't think will be more streetable ; bucking and choopy idle !!!

You can have great power under the curve with such a mild cam and PRC LS6 / 5.3l heads with resonable price

Really there is no need to bore the cylinders unless you have cylinder wall damage if not then just hone the cylinders and install new rings on your pistons. All the LS1 blocks I have seen the cylinders still have the factory cross hatching.

Your not going to make 450-500hp with just a cam and factory reworked heads,,unless you spend the money to have your heads CNC'ed and milled ,but your still only looking at around 425ish hp to the wheels unless you tell the dyno guy you want 450hp
