Default TSP 228/228 ?s

Does anybody have any sound clips of the TSP 228/228 .588"/.588" 112lsa? Also how is the cam for a daily driver. Does it surg and buck alot? What kind of power is it making? I did a search on the cam, but couldn't find much about it. Any help would be great.

No clips here. No problems with driveability at all. Tune myself with LS1 edit. I put down over 400 with this cam and PP SII 5.3 heads. Mods in sign.

is it me or are your #'s not quite on par? Not bashing or anything because ive already bought my heads from tsp and am planning on buying the 231/237 cam too...just seems that with a manual you should still be over the 400 mark no? I understand you still have the ls1 intake and stock TB and all but i dont even know if those would put you over the 400 mark..just wonderin

I looked for sound clips of the TSP 228 before I bought mine but couldn`t find any either. I don`t think too many people have this cam. Cars been down since July so I don`t have any input on it`s manners or sound (Haven`t even started it). I think I have the record for longest running H/C install. If I don`t, the guy who does should be ashamed!

I think my numbers are fine,

10-12hp with intake,5 TB, 5-10 with pulley

thats 398 at its lowest........ most 400+cam only cars have every bolt on

TSP s dyno is not friendly,

last week my friends 02 Z with LTs and Magnaflow catback dynoed 347 at TSP and 358 at Racers Edge in Odessa TX..........

I have this cam and I like it.. Too bad you didn't post this a few days ago.. I had sound clips on my webspace.. They're gone now.. I made 385hp/389tq cam only 6.0.. vig 3200 3.73 and ZR1s Mods in the sig.. It's not all about dyno numbers though.. ran a 7.49 @ 92 with a 1.68 60' @3800 lbs with me in the car.. I aint light.. LOL I just put SDPC LS6 heads on it and am going to dyno again and then hit the track.. I also switched to the 1 7/8" Grott Style Thunder Racing Headers... I'll keep you posted..

Is the the low/mid range on the 228/228 cam stronger than the 231/237 one. It seems everybody is buying the 231/237 cam or going w/ smaller ones like 224/224.....people explain.

alot of people end up goig with the 224 cams because you can make then emissions friendly for the most part...personally im goin with the 231/237 cam because i could care less about emissions and for that i might be able to pass anywayz because of the way we are tested in NJ...also youll find for the most part the 231/237 cam makes more power from 2500rpms up than the 224 period.

I like my custom grind TSP cam It's very nice to my comp. 918s and make good power. I picked up a .1/1 1/2 mph over my B1 in worse DA. Have yet to dyno the cam but im more of a track telling the story kind of guy. TSP 232/228 .574/.571 113 LSA

I have almost the same cam, mine's a comp 228 xer, only diff is it's on a 112 lobe seperation with 4 degrees advance ground in instead of a 111. I have some sound files, i'll try and host 'em and send ya a link. I love it, with just the cam, lt's, true duals, ls6 intake, air lid and filter, I just went 11.74 @ 115 w/ a 1.60 60' last night! And it's still untuned, just have idle tuning and rev limiter and stuff. I'm happy!! You will need to tune the idle with ls1 edit and drill ur throttle body to get the iac's correct, but once it's tuned, no problems at all, no surging or anything, and mine's an automatic.

It looks like a great cam. I am going to order the whole cam kit next week, if I find time. Hopefully I won't have any problems with it. I am still trying to find a sound clip though.

I didn't have enough space left to host it, but I could send you the video in an email, let me know if you want it.

I would recommend either getting the Crane Duals, or Patriot Performance duals, can't go wrong with either, both are a great spring!!! I need some Patriots or Crane's! I broke a Manley after like 13k - 15k miles!

BDD- I can get you a package with your choice of Comp Camshaft, Crane Double Valve Springs, Titanium Retainers, Hardened Spring Seats, Valve Seals, and Texas Speed & Performance Hardened Pushrods for $759.99. It's not listed on the website. Trevor ran this cam in his 02 SS for awhile. I believe he ran low 11.40s with this cam, bolt-ons, stock heads. With a good tune, you should not have any surging or idle problems.
Let us know if there is anything we can do for you!

Sorry, no sound clips.

Brian
