Default TFS 215cc matched to bigger headers

hi

curious to know if people are porting exhaust side on ported cnc heads for bigger headers

like for example i´m running TFS 215cc heads on 402ci, and using 1"7/8 kooks now, and it´s definently a lot of material that could be ported out to match the headers

But the question is am i gaining on that?

are people doing that here....

please come in

I had called TEA on talked with them prior to getting my 215 heads and asked them if their was anything they could do to tweak, touch up improve on their 215 program..he said "no" we have maximized the heads to as good as we could get with our most recent program. btw i ran 1 3/4 kooks on my 383 and no issues...torque curve was a flat line and hp ran from 0-redline with no roll over

so your'e saying i would mess them up if i woulp open exhaust runners better up at the edge to match bigger headers....

when i ran 1"3/4 it was much closer to match,
I´m just wondering about this because i have bigger bore and bigger headers....

thanks

i cant say if you will cause any harm, if you do match it, do it right open up the entire port not just flare the opening

IMO leave them alone. If you open them up too much your exhaust velocity and scavenging effect will be lost and you will hurt performace. How much is too much? I have no clue. but I would be willing to bet all the big names in cylinder heads have done alot of testing to come up with the runner volume in their heads.

if you dont know how to port heads leave them alone...plenty of power can be made with the way they are now...

i put down 495rwhp through a locked a4 346...

just cause it is bigger doesnt mean it is better...
