Default New to LS1, engine noise, clicking...need help bad

Ok kind of a long story but I want to give as much detail as I can. I have a 2002 Z28, mds stage 3 cam, headers, exhaust a lot of new engine components. I'm not 100% sure what was done to this car, I picked it up for a steal aster returning from Iraq last year.
Problem: Recently I located the source of a loud ticking sound as being one of the cam shaft bolts working its way lose. So I took the timing chain cover off and made the necessary repairs, flushed the engine, checked my timing, everything was G 2 G. I put everything back together and fired it up and it sounds like all of my rockers and rods are clicking and rattling everywhere. I take off the valve covers and check all of my rockers and rods, tighten everything down to spec, change the oil again. Start it up and its still making this noise, i drove it around a bit and it runs great, good oil pressure etc, notice no problems other than this horrible clicking/rattling noise. I used a large screw driver to listen around on the valve covers and I can hear a knocking noise on the no. 2, rocker but nothing is wrong with it as far as I know. I dont know what else to do other than take the heads off completely and go through everything and that makes me uncomfortable as hell. Any ideas guys.....I'm desperate for help here.

I dunno, it sounds way too shallow to be lifters. I have an idea of what that sounds like from watching videos of lifter noise. Someone was saying that hydraulic lifters can take a while to reach pressure or something....I dunno. lol

Pushrods would be the first thing you may want to look at. You may have one that's bent. I'm assuming you didn't check them when you had the valve covers off??

I did check them, all of the valve train is aftermarket, pushrods looked good and brand new but I didnt roll them on a flat surface like is recommended. I'll do it today though...

its called piston slap. Almost ALL LS series engines have it. My 68 has it, my friend's wife's 07 Tahoe does it, pretty much just something we all have to deal with. Google "Piston slap" and you will see exactly what I'm talking about

spun bearing? I have had a spun cam bearing before that I could have sworn the noise was right under the valve cover....

I doubt it is a bent pushrod. If the OEM PR's were replaced with hardened chromemoly ones the valve will bend before the PR on a over rev....
