Default Need a reality check here

To see if I'm missing anything big or need to make changes.

Plan is:

I've got my 241's off getting decked and 3-angled. Decking is in this case .002 - .004 (worst case). I've currently got Patriot Gold Extremes for springs and the machinist says the seat pressure on them is at 133-136 ft/lbs right now. I'm switching from my stock rockers (1.7:1) to a set of Comp Cams Ultra Golds 1.82s (19025-16). The cam is a Lunati 55008 with advertised .595/.595 237/243. . . So I mic'd the intakes and exhausts. Mine mics at .600/.601. Now before you say a 1.82 on that exhaust will be horrendous, I've got a plan remember. . .

I've got it potentially working that a friend gets a set of 1.72 Comp Cam Ultra Golds (19024-16) and we swap 8 for 8 giving us both 1.82 intake ratios and 1.72 exhaust ratios (giving me a .635/.608 - not too far off from the MS4 .649/.609 239/242 #'s). Anyway, I'm checking my pushrods lengths for appropriate swipe on the valve stem. . . I'm clay-checking the clearances on 2 separate cylinders. . .I'm putting in new gaskets, new bolts and everything is cleaned nicely. . .removing the coil packs (relocating). . . adding new valve covers with larger clearance (not needed but damn they look GOOD!!!). . . re-tuning the car. . . saving money for new rear end axles (have a Moser M9 nearly built). . . considering relocating the battery to the back in the next few months. . .

Besides pics to brag, what am I missing discussing or planning for?

Thanks,

D

Why the push for the big intake lift? Nice covers.

ive used those covers before. Relatively cheap and affordable. And seal well. Just strange finding the "tight"point

i don't think the added lift gets you much with 241 heads.

my thinking was that it lasted nearly 100K miles w/stock gaskets, so I cheaped out and decided to go w/same. As it turns out though, I've cancelled the graphites and have the mls en route. Good question.
