Exclamation LS6 cam and ported LS1 853 Heads?

I was wondering if anyone is running a LS6 cam with ported LS1 heads? Did you see any big power? And does the Pcm need to get tuned?

Also would a LS6 intake and injectors help with this?

Thanks

the Ls6 cam wouldn't require a tune but with the ported heads I would get one. Everything can run better with a tune, even stock vehicle. the Ls6 cam is an ok cam if you just want a little bit extra but if you're going to the trouble i would recommend a larger cam like the 224r or 228r.

LS6 cam if its an 02 and up needs the rev limiter/shift points moved up. You need to shift it at 6500 for best results(which is why most people don't see a gain with that cam). Make sure your valve springs are up to task(918s work perfect). You will also need different sized push rods. I can't remember the size off the head but can look it up for you(7.425-450 I believe).
LS6 intake or a Fast anything would work great. Injectors may be needed-depends how well those heads flow. Def get car tuned with the heads if they are ported.
A better off the shelf cam might be that LPE GT2-3 which is an upgrade for that cam and has no lope.

The GM LS6 cam can certainly make decent power. We've managed 400-430rwhp sae w/ our CNC'd 241's and the stock GM cams. Naturally, that is with a full compliment of bolt ons. If you're after a powerband that is essentially stock, but amplified, it can be a good option.

Not to seem like I'm calling you out or anything advanced inductions but do you have any dyno graphs of that setup and ones that show torque below 3k because that seems like a very good option if the torque is great down low and still have that kind of top end. Would probably be pretty reasonable on gas as well compared to larger cammed motors as well.

i can see it making 400 to the wheels pretty easy actually with those heads and full bolt ons with a good tune isnt the ls6 rated at 402 or somthing to the crank?

Here is a graph we made to overlay the gains from full bolt ons, to heads only, to speed density, etc. Whether it's a GM cam or we spec a tiny cam, the power potential is largely in the heads. With the tiny cams they obviously drive phenomenally well.

Dyno Comparison

Wow that is pretty good falls on its face early because of the small cam but the torque curve looks nice 350 @ 2500. I was actually based thinking of sending my cylinder heads to get ported by you guys but was in fear of losing velocity down low but even with this small cam power is great.
