Default Need opinions on a cam

I've been craving a cam. I just don't know what kind I should get. I'm new at internal engine work, so I could use some help.

I have a FAST LS6 intake with a 90mm throttle body, an underdrive pulley, and Texas Speed long tube headers. I want a decent lope, but I want it to be drivable. I would love a decent horsepower gain, but drivability is a priority.

Any opinions?

Thanks,

Wheel

Either one of these would work good 226/230 112lsa, 228/228 112lsa.

you may want to look at the comp xr281hr (228/230) makes great midrange power. i've got a A4 with 3600 stall, stock ls6 intake, long tubes, ported stock tb, hooker cat back and this cam. the car made 391rwhp/370rwtq on a dynojet.

Why wouldn't you go smaller? I don't want to, just wondering why you say that haha

The 228 cam is a good all around size. you will see alot of people running a 228 cam in there DD car with very good street manners. I have never rode in a cammed car ever. My cam is an old grind, MTI X1 230/227 and i honestly could go a little more bigger. Bigger isnt always better, but my car drives so civil it really does feel like stock.

That's the problem I'm running into. I don't want it to sound stock, but if I'm in traffic, I don't want to worry about my car crapping out on me. It's not a DD but I do drive it often.

I have been looking through Futral's cams. I just really don't know what to look for.

I have a Comp 228-230 112 and with E-Cut outs you have a car that sounds really nasty! Plus it acts really good when you are stopping and going in town!

tr230-236 nice lope, good midrange torque curve and still pulls to 6400. Do a search on this cam. I know its old technology, but still puts down good proven power.
