Default What parts are required to run 97-98 heads on an 01 LS1?

I'm curious, but what parts will it take to run 97-98 heads on my 01 LS1.

Just the perimeter bolt valve covers and mounts for the coil packs? Thats all it looks like to me...

Thanks
Steve

You are going to need the '97/'98 PCV system as well.

Didn't know that... oh well, screw that. Looks like I want to stick with 99+ heads then. Was looking at Patriot 97-98 heads that are on special for $300 cheaper than the newer style ones.. thats why I was asking.

Hmm.. yeah I'm curious as well. I have the 01 LS6 manifold and PCV. What couldn't be adapted. It's just the heads we are talking about...

Hmmm....

you may have to use a early head gasket also. New mls gaskets will leak water on some early heads.

Dude by the time you buy the perimeter bolt valvecovers and stuff to convert it your not going to be saving that much than if you were to just go with the centerbolt style. Just my .02

Just get the LS6 valley cover and block off the pcv on the '98 valve covers.. I think you can do it for like $60-70.. It's more efficient anyway. '98 valve covers aren't expensive.. Seen them on ebay for cheap..
