That's a first I've heard of that. All of the speed shops that I have talked to recommends to upgrade the pushrods when changing to a larger cam w/ big lifts.

so i pulled the rest of the pushrods and half of them are bent. Then i noticed that the cylinders that had bent or broken pushrods are also the ones that have plugs that are dripping with fuel. The rest of them are dry but very very fouled. Was this what was causing all of my rich problems??

Wow.. Someone gave you some REALLY bad info. Sorry to hear about your luck. Hopefully you get it panned out. I think I would be making a trip to the shop that fed you this crap.

I think upgraded pushrods has been on the "cammed to do list" of ANY pushrod motor made by ford, chevy, dodge, etc for the past 50 years. Why anyone would tell you otherwise I have no idea. Best of luck getting it back together.

new pushrods are on the way. So, What all could have been damage in my motor by the bent and broken pushrods other than the chewed up spot around the pushrods pathway? I just wanna know what all i have to worry about once i have the new pushrods in.

I hate to say this but a complete inspection of the motor is going to necessary unless u just eant to trash this one and buy another one. Your going to need to re inspect the cam and lifters and possibly pull the oil pan to make sure all metal fragments are out of the motor and nothing is damaged

A bad tune could also have helped to precipitate your pushrod misfortune. Do yourself a favor and do this right this time around.
