Never said you were stupid, but to tell someone that has, what they think, is a rod knock to go out and drive it hard and that they have nothing to lose is a little uneducated IMO.

Alright man.. I'm not going to get into a pissing match with you over the internet. I just don't think I would EVER tell anyone to take the car out and drive it hard to try to figure out why it's knocking. (end point) 
OP, if it ever starts knocking, I would suggest not driving it anymore, especially hard driving, but that's just me. However, I doubt it would start knocking just from being towed.

Thanks guys. I didn't even drive it; just started it and the knock was gone. I was thinking that putting it on the ramp might have pushed the oil over a baffle and it wasn't reaching the front oiler or something. Letting it sit overnight cleared up the knock. I just finished driving it and no issues.
BTW - I would not have driven it if it was still knocking. 57 years old, 3rd vette. Built my 1st engine at 16. Not stupid, just looking for possible answer to a wierd problem.

Hey i was right so go cry to your momma. rod bearings don't just go out from a ride on a tow truck and you sure as hell won't have 50 psi oil pressure when one does. Anyone that would post up such bs is just full-o-crap. Ask the op if i was right...he was ready to loose his mind over a piece of carbon.

Hotsilver, there is no way to tell if you were right or wrong, you took a guess.. his problem has went away, obviously doesn't mean a rod. On the otherhand you shouldnt be taking credit for something you think you might be right about, especially not bragging like you are for absoluteky no reason.
