It takes exactly one half of the distance between you and your tuner.

LOL that is greatness, and probably pretty accurate really.

OP there is no way to accurately answer your question, the real question is if you already know its possible to do why are you chancing it? Tow it to the tuner unless he can come to you, end of story. (not trying to be a jerk, but I have heard of these situations for some time now and that is the absolute best thing to do)

Depends on how much different they are... You aren't going to find an exact answer. I wouldn't recommend driving it any further though. You're just asking for trouble.

A tow is cheaper than an engine!

If its at all possible, put the injectors your tuned for back in it, to drive it. Even if you have to borrow a set, it would be a lot safer.

And how exactly would too large of injectors cause bearing issues? He's risking washing the cyl walls, not dumping it strait into his oil pan

And where do you think the fuel goes once the cylinder walls are drenched and the engines moving?

Yes, straight into the oil pan would be the correct answer. Fuel in oil = bad for bearings.

i would do a leakdown and or a compression test that is the only way to see. What size injectors do you have?

My car was driven an hour with a plug wire off by mistake. So fare It has not showed any signs itof the rings being damaged and I haven't lost any mph at the track.
Should I not worry about it or should do a compression test to see if there was damage?

It takes almost no time to put the stock injectors back in to drive it to the tuner. Just don't beat on it.

If I recall correctly on our vehicles when the computer senses a misfire it shuts off the injector. Can anyone confirm?

If it runs good you are probably fine, you can do a compression test for ease of mind, I have yet to see in my 13 years of working on cars a misfire cause a ring failure, the main time you will see the rings be affected is during break in when someone has built a fresh motor of larger cubes or cam etc that reqiures a/f to be set and it runs pig rich because the tune that is far off for that set up, then you really see it cause an issue.

But still in anycase, a really rich setup, misfire, whatever it may be is bad for the rings and once is washes the oil off the rings they go to chit, and then the fuel gets into the oil and causes further trama... So all in all a tow bill is far less expensive than an engine as stated.

One thing you can do if you have a misfire and are concerned about a cylinder (I had to do this in a semi emergency situation once) is just unplug the injector on the misfiring cylinder until you can get to a place to make the repair or get it hauled somewhere.

x2, my car had random misfires from a tiny exhaust leak for about a year and it ran perfectly fine.

Just put your stock injectors in and drive to your tuner. Bring the 36# with you and install when you get there. Easy. I don't understand people wanting to risk their motor over a 15 minute task.

The car pulls timing, it does not shut off injectors. Leaning out an already misfiring cylinder would probably be the worst thing you could do.
