Im going to get this tuned when i install the blower, but id rather not do everything at once.
so yea, would it be safe to run? or even get on hard?
From my own experiences I didnt mess anything up and I romped on it quite a bit. Not that I suggest everyone do that, but most people can feel when they are reaching their limits or when its not smart to drop the hammer on the throttle. If you are conscious about it being untuned you probably will take care of it sooner than later. Look at it this way though. You will need a good tune later on and I wouldnt get a mail order tune for a FI application. (No offense to the mail order guys). Get the full tune now and go back for a retune as you piece it together. Some places charge 25$ for that if not free in some instances.
@ -23.5° degrees of valve overlap.....no one will even know you have a cam in that car.
Period.
One of my best friends put a 98 ls1 cam in his 01 T/A when the engine threw a rod because it was almost free and was a little bigger. His car has worse manners than my car did on a poor mail order tune. It is a pain to start, sounds like it's loping, and hates to idle.
