Default ls1 t-56 issue

After a 2nd-3rd or 3rd to 4th gear pull My clutch pedal resistance point drops about a half inch. Making it tricky to shift into the next gear.

It stays this way for a minute and after just driving around it tends to fix itself, but I can't get a full 1/4 pass in any idea what might be causing this? No clutch slippage so I can't imagine that being a problem...that and the clutch has been in there forever.

If the clutch has been in there forever...wouldnt you think that might indicate the clutch is probly shot?? But any way, your problem sounds like more of a hydraulic issue, try bleeding your slave probly air in the lines.

search on here for the "drill mod." sounds like that may be your issue. sounds like the same thing mine does. the problem is the master cylinder. there is a restrictor in the line. since the restrictor doesnt allow much flow, at wot the fluid overheats, which causes air bubbles in the line. drilling that restrictor out is supposed to allow more fluid to pass thru so that doesnt happen.

i think i explained that correctly....if not, someone correct me lol.

the drill mod didnt work on my car, but has for some people. but look for info on that and u'll know real quick if that is your problem. the best bet is to look into a tick master cylinder or similar

Im pretty sure you can use a truck master cylinder along with the drill mod. that should solve all your problems

You guys think the drill mod would fix this? I've got over 2years/ 10k on this current clutch setup and it just started doing this now...

i dont know. im not for sure thats the problem you are having. if it is, most people i have talked to, the drill mod has worked. if you got money to spend, you might look into a tick master cylinder

Brake fluid will absorb any moisture. Theres a fancy name for this, don't know it off the top of my head. Anyways its boiling temp goes way down when its got moisture in it. You could try flushing it with new fluid, see if that cures it. Could be the fluid has absorbed enough over time to work into the lines and get some heat related issues?

After that my next guess would be a slave cylinder.

sounds like the slave cylinder to me, my car used to do the same thing when running the 1/4 mile. After the fluid heated up my clutch pedal would literally stay stuck to the floor and i would have to pull it off and repeatedly pump it till it came back. My fluid was starting to get a little dark so i knew something was up. I ended up grenading my stock clutch one night so when i went to put a new clutch in i noticed my slave cylinder was wet along the bottom part. After replacing with a new slave cylinder i have had no issues.

The first thing that you should do is get a syringe and suck out the old clutch fluid. Then refill it with new fluid. Pump the clutch pedal 30 times and then suck that fluid out and refill with clean fluid and pump the pedal again. Repeat this process till the fluid is clear after pumping the pedal. Then run it through the gears and see if it is cured. Dirty clutch fluid will cause the problem that you described.
