I initially was goig to use a set of 317's to get my static compression at 11.4:1 with some .040' gaskets on Diamond 10+ dome pistons, but I think I am leaving alot on the table. One option is a set of heads I found on Ebay. Since I already have springs, rockers, etc... it might be a more logical choice.

The reason the market is flooded with them is because almost every 6.0 truck engine came with them. When the 6.0's are modded most people go with a smaller chamber head to bump compression. There is not alot of demand for a larger chamber as most run a flat top with valve reliefs. Patriot used to use them for their ported LS6 heads by welding the chambers to make them smaller and marketed them as LS6 style heads.
I agree that you should send them to TEA and have them CNC ported. They will flow just as good and make the same power as an LS6 head.
What cam are you planning on running?

Thanks for the reply Jimmy. After looking up numbers and pricing I think the Ebay heads are best bang for the buck. I can spend about $800 get a new set of heads and valves. I can keep the 317 heads and have them worked later down the road and slap those bad boys on my 2500HD HAHA
As for cam I am thinking something around 231/239 .617"/.624" 114LSA+1 I paid Patrick G for his services so lets see what he recommends.

Im sorry, I don't know if I'd buy Ebay CNC heads unless they could provide flow numbers and proof that the program is good. Lots of the sponsors here have proven track records and that IMO is what you are buying. Remember that all ported heads are not created equal.
