Default pushrod lenth suggestions

ive got a 05 lq4 6.0 and im gunna be running 243 heads milled .045 with the stock mls head gaskets, ls7 lifters and ls2 trays... anyone running a similar setup? im thinking 7.375 but not sure

i was hoping i wouldnt have to put it all together then measure and wait on pushrods... pat g said 7.375 but i always like to have more then one opinion

My LQ9 had .130" preload from the factory. Even with an Comp Cam I had .100" preload with 7.375 pushrods. You just never know. There is no better procedure than to just measure. It is not always convenient, but always accurate.

i have a buddy who has one of the measuring things... i dont know a whole lot about it or the preload or anything. i guess i will have to figure it out once i get it together then i will just have to get someone to overnight me some pushrods cuz im gunna want to drive it haha

Shorter than 7.375. 7.350 would be a better length to start out with imo.

I would definately recommend measuring the length out with a length checker. It takes all the guess work out of doing something like this. The setup you are running has too many changes to it to estimate where the length should be.

Ditto to all on the measuring, I am going through the same thing as we speak. Test the wipe pattern with your adj. pushrod at the intended length (zero-lash + intended preload) - in my case I will need to use shims.

Yall talked me into measuring them so once I get it all together I'm gunna have to measure then wait for pushrods but it will be worth it knowing its right
