Did you change the pushrods? You may have bent one if you didn't.

Then don't drive it. The flashing SES light is a misfire. You need to get it tuned.

When you "took it for a spin" you didn't jump on it, did you?

Yes, the fly wheel can cause a tapping/knocking sound if it's cracked. Get you a stethoscope and see if you can pinpoint where it's coming from, and go from there.

since i just did the cam install i figured the knock would be a loose rocker or fucked up rod but ive went back over all that and its all fine i cant figure out where its coming from but i got under it today with the car running and it deff sounds like its at the back bottom end of the block u can put your hand up on the block by the fly wheel and feel the knock and its pretty loud around that area, i took the little tin plate off on the housing and spun the fly wheel and from what i could see didnt appear to be any cracks really hope its not bottom end internal

Hello , if it is bottom end rod bearing You would most likely be able to hear/feel it turning the flexplate/flywheel by hand . 1 revolution turn it a cpl inches and push it the other direction maybe a half inch , then a cpl more inches then the other a little and so on for 1 revolution . It will take You 5 or 10 min. but will confirm or rule out bottom end . Good luck .

Default tick or knock

Check to see if your trans converter bolts are tight. I have seen the bolts bottomed out into converter or lose causing knock. good luck.

so me and a buddy kinda have a theory dont know if its stupid or not but it kinda seems to be working, so after thinking lastnight that the knocking didnt start till a day after the cam install and after i drove it a little without a tune the computer doesnt know what the **** its doing and started to try and adjust its self and learn, with the new cam thought maybe the computer was reading it was running to rich tried to adjust and lean it out so much that the motor would start knocking idk its an idea but i unhooked the battery left it off over night for the computer to reset started it this morning and i dont hear the knock like before idk what do yall think is this possible or am i just stupid

May have been a vacuum leak, or exhaust leak. Flashing SES means there's a misfire, is it still flashing? If it was me, I wouldn't run it anymore till it's tuned.
