I have a 2-post floor lift, and an engine hoist.
Question: Why wouldn't I be able to lift the whole with the body about a foot to get under it.
Put a floor jack under the K-frame, as well as a short trans jack to keep them mated. Then unbolt the subframe, and lower the engine.
Then raise the car enough to roll the entire front end out, while lowering the trans. jack, as needed.
Wheels on the trans jack would facilitate roll out.
I did similar, but without a lift. I had my car up on wheel cribs. However, my core support is cut, which makes getting the engine hoist in WAY easier. I dropped my old K-member but left the front suspension in place, bolted the new tubular K-member to my engine and set the engine and trans combo on a trans jack and Harbor Freight furniture dolly. Seemed like it would be unstable, but I tried rocking it and it was solid as can be. You need to be more than a foot in the air though.
