1.85 baaaad, 1.7 gooooood, all the rockers do is change the cam characteristics but they do it at a terrible place (right over the valve) i.e. get a custom cam to do what you want with 1.7 rockers instead of changing all that geometry thats gonna wear that investment out in 10,000 miles

will it not make more power doing 1.85 rockers... i read a deal for vengence or some one put 1.85 rocker on smaller cam like my 228/230 and made more power than a bigger cam with 1.7 rockers??

1.85 rockers are for someone looking to get a little more out of a stock cam only imo. You can get a custom grind designed for those rockers, but I would not put the 1.85's on either one of those cams you listed. As others already posted, your better off using the stock 1.7's(w/ trunion upgrade) and get the cam of your choice... preferably a custom grind and scratch both those you listed!!

I have seen some top builds run rockers even the 1.85s but u need to use the best spring u can buy. The fast ramps on the xer lobes have never been recommended for higher ratio rockers because it causes the valve train to become easily unstable. A higher ratio rocker always amplifies what the cam is trying to do and if its already coming off the seat really fast rockers multiply it. A high end spring will help stabilize things...

What would the ramp rate be like if you used 1.8 rockers on the 228/230 Xe cam.Thats the cam i have and im curious. And what would it make my lift. Its 571/573 now??Would the ramp rate be comparable to a xer ,or even more aggressive?
