They will add more preload, however I would ensure that one of the rockers isnt the reason for the noise.

im sure all the rockers are tight. would there be any other problems with the rockers? to make that noise other than being loose?

Could have a bad Lifter that is not pumping up, bearings in the actual rocker could be bad. How loud is it? My c5 has a ticking also, but I was told on the ls1's with a bigger cam the valvetrain gets noisy from the valves closing faster because of the lobe angle.

I had a lifter take a dump right after my cam swap. Could be that, but it could also be pushrod length as well.

Depending on the cam lobe profile, some increase in valvetrain noise is normal but most of the time the excessive noise is from incorrect pushrod lenth.

i have a ms3 with 7.400 pushrods. is that the wrong size? the noise really only seems to be comeing from the driver side heads. but i have been told that it is normal for a bigger cam to have a little ticking noise but it bugs me.

Did you measure for pushrod length after the cam was put in?

Measuring for pushrod length is done with an adjustable pushrod. Speeding. Sells them. Do a search for measuring pushrod length and you will find it. Id give you a link but I am on my phone at the moment. I'll help you tomorrow.
