Default Absolute 2.75 LS6 heads

Whats the general concensus on these heads? I am looking for something close to a max effort LSx head. Right now I am running TEA/GTP stage 2 5.3l truck heads. The heads are pretty nice but I am looking to take the next step.

Hey Phil

Absolutes 2.75 ls6 heads are making some huge power. I know that LG car with 503 hp car has them and I think J-rod does also. I dont think anyone can argue his ls6 heads are some of the top heads out there right now. If you are looking for max Effort they are defintly the way to go.

Phil i'm not sure you would gain anything of significance except possibly peak numbers over the heads your running now. If they are close to the GTP's i had your pretty much maxed out flow wise with the exception of the better exhaust ports on the Ls6's. You definately don't want to loose any velocity or compression.

Cammin BeaSSt just turned some big #s off a set of TEA LS6 heads. However I doubt you're going to gain much over what you have now.

If your on bottle I'd look into TEA's special nitrous ports they use which pick up serious power on bottle. You can't go wrong with either head, but I wouldn't expect more than 10-15rwhp tops off bottle.

I haven't dynoed my car but I would have to say its 460rwhp after seeing my weight vs trap speeds. I would love to see another 30-40rwhp from these heads.

You would complete pick up power. You're running 5.3L heads now and you're talking about switching to LS6 heads which have always outflowed the 5.3's and the 5.7's for that matter.

You're running pretty strong right now. I'd consider investing in the LSx intake with 90mm TB before swapping heads.

Phil, You probably know that the guys that tested these heads have tested about everything out there and they feel around 450 RWHP is about as good as it gets for real numbers, not my opinion, what they have found by testing almost 100 H/C cars on the dyno. They were blown away with the improvement of our LS6 Stg 2.5 vs. our 5.3 Stg 1.5 head, not the same car, but two cars on the same dyno. The torque improvements are substantial, the graph is an attachment.

BTW, the only H/C A4 Vette on my dyno to ever outpower my Stg 1.5 heads was a Cartech car, and it had more torque across the torque band, which I didn't understand. Once I installed my LS6 Stg 2.5 heads I then outpowered the Cartech car everywhere. I think I know why this head made so much torque, but we are testing a new head to see if we can make more torque then this. I next day aired it today, it will be installed Monday and tested Monday or Tuesday. I will keep you posted. BTW, I have a PM for you.

Those are some pretty sweet numbers. I know my car is probably in the high 450-460rwhp #s since the last time I laid down 439 and went into float @ 6100-6200. It was pulling SERIOUSLY! Maybe I need some "mineshaft" air to drop me into the 10.50s or 40s with a new manifold and throttlebody.
