Default Which springs for cam swap?

Hey everyone, recently i decided i want a cam and i am trying to get everything together. So far i am about to order
ls6 ported oil pump
ls2 timing chain
cam package from tsp ( cam, springs, and pushrods)
Does this seem like everything i need?

Now should i pay for the cam package that is 100 more with the PRC spring kit, or will the single beehive springs be okay?

Also if you have read this far down i am looking at the TR228 cam on 110lsa. WHat do you all think?

Get: Thicker oil pump o-ring GM# 12557752 -TRUST me on this!! It will save a LOT of headache tracking down a knock or tick afterwards. I stock up on em.

APR Crank pulley bolt too. Never has to be replaced.

What's the lift on the cam? IIRC, the Comp 921 springs are a bit more reliable, but depends on what lift you will be running.

And if you're leaving the heads on the car but swapping springs, replace the valve seals while you are in there.

On XER lobes I would stick with a good dual spring... I've had great luck with my PRC's.

Pac 1518's are a good spring and would work well. PRC's would be good on the duel side.

I used the Texas Speed PRC dual springs with my 228R cam and they are working great. Making alot of power also.

Technically the COMP 918 singles are sufficient for that cam. However, I would go with the PRC duals if it were mine.

If you're on stock umilled heads, then 7.4's will work.. You can also use 7.425's because of the smaller base circle on comp's cams. I've used both & the 7.425 seems to quiet down the valvtrain a lil.

It seems like I have seen this mentioned before. Is this with any LSx motor?? I have never pulled the oil pump so it still necessary??

Springs are more important than you may think, i was running Patriot gold Duals with a nearly .600 lift cam & they worked great, changed to a much lower lift cam & they didn't, i fitted PAC 1518s & picked up another 500rpm.
