Default What valve springs to use?

I just purchased a Texas Speed 228r camshaft and am trying to figure out what springs to use. The cam specs are 228/228 .588/.588 112LSA. Should i get some springs that are good to a .600 lift or go with some duals springs that are good up to a .650 lift? Or are there some dual springs out there that are for a .600 lift?

single springs will keep the valve train noise down, and will be lighter. no need for duel springs with that cam

I went from Patriot Gold duals to PAC 1518 behive & my engine picked up 500rpm, always wondered why it didn't rev out.

you will not lose HP by going with a dual spring, but you could use a good single like comp's. I ran patriot golds for 28k miles with my f14 high lift no problems then i recently installed some patriot Xtreme's just for a little upgrade.

I like a (duel valve spring) for safety, What IF a valve spring brakes, with a duel you might save your engine by the inner or outer spring holding your valve, but with a single spring. if it brakes the engine is done.

^ I don't know... Dueling is dangerous. I think that's why they outlawed it.

I would look into something like a PAC 1218.

I agree with the pac valve springs. You don't really need the 1518, but it will give you room to grow if you change later one. PAC has a great rep.

Yes PAC has a great reputation and the consensus here is spot on PAC 1518 for this cam...

We have used both singles and doubles with no problems on this cam. I think the 1518s would offer the best of both worlds. Lots of mileage and low valvetrain noise since its a single spring.
