Default any thoughts on 236/240 streetsweeper cam?

I did plenty of research and deliberation. I live down the road from a proven tuner of said cam (new era performance) and haven't heard anything really bad and mostly good reviews but nobody has been somewhat thorough. The only other thing I need to know is what oil pump is efficient and a proven performer for my cam swap

Stock cam is like 196 in. and 209 ex. sooooooo you do the math that is a
plenty big leap and I'm sure that cam makes awesome power but it all comes
down to what you want and other supporting mods to make the car do what
you need it to (torque, mileage, horseower, lump, etc)

im slowly turning the car into a track car. heads next year and weight reduction. i was worried about the street manners personally. but a friend of mine got one thats bigger, too big but the people at new era were able to tame it down for him. no surging or bucking. im optomistic about this, im just wondering if i should have gone for a high low end TQ cam until i turn the car into a track car to make the better ETs

I think itll pull like a freight train up top and i doubt youll notice much difference down low. I dont know what year your car is but you may wanna invest in some rod bolts cause that size cam is gonna like to rev pretty high.

nice i live about 5 mins down the road from ya.What year is your car??
Anyway i heard the streetsweeper is an excellent cam.I personally like the specs on the smaller version streetsweeper. They are like 228/232 111 or something like that. The bigger version would be great if u have 410's for a stick or 373's if yur auto

Let me know if u need help with yur cam swap,i love modding ls1's

You should fill out the Flowtech Induction Custom Camshaft worksheet so Ed Curtis can spec you a cam to meet what mods you currently have and what you want. It's a very detailed worksheet, but you won't be disapointed. Both streetsweeper cams are Ed Curtis cams.

I have the streetsweeper,I couldnt be happier. The only problem I have is I need some different gears, I still have the stock 3.42. So going 70mph on the high, i can only be in 5th gear, if I am in 6th, it bucks. Also, going slow thru a parking lot is hard, starts bucking. Other than that, it pulls like a freight train.

Its a 98 Z. Already runs pretty hard. I went ahead with the cam that will give it a lil more top end than low because for some reason my car gets decent 60ft times on regular radials... my best was a 2.01 so it seems to hook pretty good for radials. I will also be looking for another rear end to keep in the garage for a safety net because of everything that im doing in the span of 30 days

I saw those videos before I purchased it to tell you the truth lol. seeing the car remain stable because of a good tune helped in the decision. I have just been trying to gather info on the little things to expect for this specific cam if there are any subtle nuances compared to a dif cam but same size... I guess its the nervous stage right now bc im about 8 weeks away from the swap.

mine does have traction so im not sure if that would affect it. if anybody else could shed some light on how it would affect it that would be greatly appreciated... and if the rear end does commit suicide i will definitely get a hold of you, especially seeing as how you live so close

all you have to do is take the axles out of your 4 channel rear(as long as you dont break them)And swap them into the 3 channel rear with your wheel sensors and your golden.

I good tune it a HUGE help. But its still not recommended to run stock gears with that cam. Some guys do it until the order a better rearend and then get gears. I wouldn't put any money into a 10bolt deff not with a t56 car. Im super happy with it, for a street driving cam that makes top power. There alot of good cams out there too. Its been 10.6s 128's. The cars gona be alot lighter this year, its gona go faster anyway. I'm probally gona run a bigger cam that Ive found more power with. but its made 425/393 with the dana60, 28inch drag radials, and heavy parts. Did you ever see my car? I'd let you drive it, if I put a SS back in it. Thats whay I went with it, was impressed with some other locals when I couldn't pick a cam. Check out cars if you can.

I have 430s with a 28 DR, so I htink thats like 410s with a stock 26 tire. And I have no bucking ever. I even lugg the **** out of the motor down to 800-900rpms in 6th and it dosn't get any bucky. Its stupid but just did it because I had seen christian do it in his vid years before. I normally cruise under 2K, and its good.
Like some bigger cams do, I had a Trex and it would do it on the hwy crusieing under like 2200rpms in 6th. You have to go over 70mph I think it is, Or use 5th to cruise. So after a few seconds it would start the bucking. Gears sound loud, they are. but they go away over 55-60 and are quite till about 85. And I have no carpet in the car so its bare floor.

Yeah I wouldn't buy another 10 bolt, just start saving, just take it easy on the launches for now untill ya can get a rear,if that cam is anything like my ms4 its gonna be a dog down low any way on stock gears,4.10s helped so much, can't wait to go with 4.30s,

i actually have seen your car, i was behind you at NYIRP to pay to race. trust me, its hard not to notice your car, and it has the new era license plate cover... so it has to be you that i saw. i am holding off on a stall because i dont have a better rear end yet so i figure launching from close to idle will help with the longevity of it opposed to dropping 4000 RPM at once.
