Thanks for ducumenting everything. I'm gonna use this thread as well as ls1howto.com when I install my PRC 5.3's and 228r.

EDIT... Do the FAST 36lb injectors just snap in or do you need adaptors?

ok so today i decided to rip into my gauge cluster cause a bunch of the lights didnt work (i.e. the SES light, BRAKE light, TCS OFF light, and so on) and i just picked up a cluster from a 99 camaro Z28, and i wanted to fix the issue. so i pulled it out and boy was i surprised when i took it apart! now these lights haven't worked since i bout the car and i just wanted them fixed (especially the SES light) cause i have heads and cam now and wanted to know if i was getting misfires and other stuff.

here is the two clusters next to eachother

all taken apart, these were considerably complex

and here is the 2 mother boards next to eachother, the one out of my trans am is on the right, notice anything strange....

here is the camaro one, nice a pretty

and here is my trans am one, see all those lights missing? WTF!!!!! i am gonna assume that the guy that had this car before me ripped them all out as to sell it to me so i think that all was good to go! SERIOUSLY...WTF!!!!

so i put it all back together and went from just having a security light (happened like 2 weeks ago) to having all of these on, NOW I AM PISSED!!!!

so now here is a list of the lights that are on:

Service engine soon (this is probobly from my missing EGR, AIR and new CAM)
AIR BAG
SECURITY
TCS OFF (my traction control button doent work either)
ABS INOP
BRAKE
LOW COOLANT

so now i am totally clueless on what to do! i am taking this car to Ellis at Speed Secrets next week and he said he would run the codes and tell me what is wrong with my car. but till them i am hoping for some advice.

for the ABS INOP, BRAKE, and TCS OFF light i was thinking speed sensors, traction control sensor (this will cause ABS not to work if it goes bad) or the ABS unit itself. these lights come on even before i start the car, and stay on when i start it. the AIR BAG light blinks like 3-4 times when started then stays on permanently.

i am very displeased about this and hope i can address these isssues with out ruining my car. any advice is welcome as i would like to fix this in the next week or so. BTW, i switched out the trans am gauges again for the camaro ones, and i think they look better with the blue and the orange, then my old red color!

ok, here is the view with the camaro gauge cluster on there, i think i actually like this one better as it doesnt seem so....plain. well here is the pic, as you can see these are the lights i have on (the low coolant light came on right after i took the pic of the trans am cluster)

this first pic is of the trans am cluster, for comparison to the camaro Z28 cluster

so i am still a little pissed that these issues just came up and i found out that my cluster has been messed with! i just thought my car was so awsome that it tuned itself!!!!!...lol

no but seriously i just want to get this stuff fixed. hopefully the tuner can point me in the right direction, cause he is one of the best in northern Washington!

oh and on a side note, this came in today, so i cam gonna start on that, now that some of it is already taken apart!

Damn, the airbag light is what would scare me. And the fact he pulled the lights out to sell you the car. I would be pretty pissed and contact the guy asap.

no it is actually my bad, cause i didn't know any better when i bought it. i bought it back in 2007, so it is a little hard to blame him now, even though i know i didnt pull them out. i will just fix all these issues, and will be done with it. no big deal, just a little annoying. but i have learned alot about F-bodies in the last 4 years, so i can fix it.

Wow, I've heard of some shady stuff done to sell a car, but this one takes the cake. Guess it just goes to show you never can be sure...

Hope you figure it out, man. Good luck!

yea hopefully it wont be as much as a headache as i think it is gonna be, but never know till i get it scanned. if the front wheel speed sensors are bad, then i am in trouble.

Man, you ever get this thing tuned, I'm really looking forward to seeing what it will do. Following this thread has gotten me really excited about getting everything put on my car. Great thread by the way.

alright, i am finally starting to feel better and got to the point to where i can drive (kinda) so it is time for the tune! i will be droping off my T/A @ Speed Secrets tomorrow, and i just wanted it to look awsome! so i hand polished the whole car (i know, it was a bitch!!!) then i waxed it. also i just got my side view mirror in but didnt have the second one done and it was peeling. so i decided to tackle it myself with the stuff i had in my garage. i pulled it, sanded it, then primed it, painted it (2 coats) and clear coated it (2 coat). then when it was dry i took it and polished the **** out of it and it came out really nice! i am very happy!

here are some pics

here is what it looked like before, really ugly

and here is after i painted it with duplicolor matching color code, and high gloss/sealant clear coat

ok guys, just got this baby tuned and it runs great! the idle bounced a little right after the tune, but is learning itself in. gonna get dyno numbers up next week, looking forward to seeing them. as long as i get around 440rwhp then i will be happy! i mean this thing is a beast and has a whole lot of trouble with traction in 1st-3rd! i love it!!!!

+1 on those dyno numbers. Wouldn't mind a video of that traction problem you got.
