Default Guys running TSP 228R with Stage 2.5 PRC 5.3 heads.. What pushrod length you running?

Hey guys,
For those running a TSP 228R cam and TSP Stage 2.5 PRC 5.3 Heads (59cc) and stock thickness head gaskets. What length pushrod did you end up using?

-Thnx

7.425" however I strongly recommend you buy the length checker from Jegs for $12.00 just to be sure. A 7.4" will probably work fine but it will be noisy due to low preload on the lifters.

ALWAYS check... someone might have shims under thier rockers, running different lifters, shorter or longer stemmed valves ect.. not checking YOUR needs is a dumb mistake...

That is kind of the point to this thread. I want to see how much variance there is between what people are running for a pushrod length with the same basic set-up mentioned above.

You MUST measure, there is no other intelligent option.

You guys are saying check your pushrod length to make sure its right. So what is the best pushrod length for the 228r?

They are saying install everything minus the pushrods and measure for yourself.

Everything else being stock a 7.400" is usually the one. However, with the heads they could be milled or maybe you're putting different lifters in which all changes the length. You are better off to measure before purchasing to ensure you get the correct length in the motor. The tool is $19.95 so it's not like it costs a lot to make sure it is right. We have them on the shelf if you need one!

Someone should also go through the two different ways of checking length after he gets the checker and there should be a sticky put up.
