Have a slightly high idle (1100), so gonna go ahead and check for a vacuum leak. I have a vacuum gauge, what should i be looking for?

the best way to check for a vacume leak is with a can of carb cleaner, start the engine and spray it around all vacume lines and over the intake and all gaskets if you have a leak it will suck the cleaner in the engine and you will hear the change in the idle and you will know where the leak is at

the motor in my car is out of an 01' vette with 20k miles. just checked out all the vacuum lines and they look pretty good to me. no cracks or anything. i couldnt actually see the line behind the intake manifold, though.

is it possible my tac is off?

seems like carb cleaner would be a little messy but none the less works if you were looking for an alternative method for checking for vaccuum leaks you can use low pressure propane. use the same as if it were carb cleaner and just listen for difference in engine sound/ idle. just keep it away from open spark and such

Carb cleaner will evaporate so you won't have a mess. I did this a couple weeks ago trying to find a vac leak, turned out to be my tps sensor. Good luck!
