Default ls2 heads on a 5.3

i have a set of 243 heads is it worth the trouble of instaling with a ls6 cam??need to know before i sale these heads

the 243/799 castings are the same thing essentially. Gm used the 799 on the aluminum blocked 5.3. So yes they will work fine!!

They will work but you are going to be giving up some compression to the stock heads but gaining some airflow. If you decide to install them, I would mill them to try and gain some of that compression back if not gain some. With a LS6 cam, you should be room to do some decent milling to help out on the compression.

will it be a big rwhp gain compaired to stock with the ls6 cam and ls1 intake and tb??

only if you mill them if you dont the loss of comp will pretty much negate the gain in airflow
