Default TR cheaTR v3 cam

looking into getting this cam. but wanted to know what kind of power people are putting down on the bottle with it. also if anyone has any videos of the cam that'd be great. a buddy sent me a sound clip of his car with stock manifolds and the cam sound damn good. but want to know how she sounds in a car with a real exhaust

my current mods are LT's, Ory, lid and a 125 shot

if your gonna keep the long tubes on the car get a cam better suited for long tubes. the cheatr series cams are for stock exhaust manifolds.

i know that they work well with a stock manifold car. but the reason im loooking in to the cheaTR cam is because you dont need a very big stall with it if any.

i know you have to pay to play. im not looking for some ridiculously huge obnoxious cam. just something better then a ls6 cam and a hot cam.

i've considered a MS3 but not really looking to spend the coin on a 3600 stall. i know with cams go big so you dont have to keep doing it. i fully understand this saying.

the car is a daily driver. i like the power band off idle to 6400. and its good N/A and on dope

there is plenty of smaller cams out there that would suit your setup better than the cheatr. what about the 224r on a 114 LSA? im pretty sure you can run that on a stock converter. or even the 220r on a 112. any of those combined with some dope should run like a raped ape on the street. should have great torque and stock driveability. call up TSP than can tell u all about them.

I'd get a cam from someone, hell, ANYONE that you can actually talk to in the future. Martin @ Tick comes to mind.

Go ahead and call Thunder about that cam...

You're really going to shortchange yourself by trying to avoid a higher stall TC if you're looking to make your car faster. Even with a stock cam you'll see a nice performance increase with a higher stall TC. There's no magical short-cut that'll allow you to cam your engine and maximize it performance potential without a high performance stall TC with having a automatic transmission. You don't have to go with a 3600-4k stall, you'll still see nice gains with a 2800-3200 stall. Without a TS stall upgrade I'd recommend going with a smaller cam, but even then a car with a stock cam and a performance TC will probably be faster.

I'd talk to Circle D, and Yank Performance and tell then your concerns about going with a performance oriented TC for your transmission.
