Default :( car wont start after head and cam

Did heads and cam in my 2000 camaro. I went to crank it and it cranks just wont start. How many grounds are in back of each head? Im getting fuel. Im lost my security light blinks but its been like that since i changed my vats 2 years ago. Any input would be greatly appreciated

check and see if you are getting a spark from the plugs. You said you have fuel but do you have a spark.

yes your number one piston needs to be at top dead center when you align your timing gears dot to dot

As long as the dots are properly aligned, the piston HAS to be on TDC. You can't mess that up because the crank gear is keyed to the crank shaft. Both number 1 and number 6 will be at TDC...however, #6 will be on compression...not number 1. In this case, it won't matter because you aren't using a distributor you have to align.

Did you plug the cam and crank sensors back in?

They have to be if you lined the dots up correctly. It's dummy proof. With the crank gear dot straight up, 1 and 6 are TDC. But if you missed with the gear alignment and the dots weren't right, then you are screwed and need to start over. But even being a tooth off, I would think it should at least try to fire. Do you have compression?

Just a thought...do you have multiple keyways on your crank gear? If so, you may have used the wrong keyway and dot combination.
