Good question OP. I ended up having to buy two rear axle bearings/seals from autozone a few months back. Do any sponsors sell rear end rebuild kits??
I was told by the Autozone guy that there was a company that sold full rebuild kits in the $100 range and it included all bearings/seals/grease/etc.

EDIT- Just realized this was regarding cam bearings, my bad!

Okay, well Matt, i got an LQ4 block with an LS1 crank (i got them both at the same time, the crank came free with the deal) will the bearings interchange? I was pretty sure the internals (with the exception of the pistons) was the same, but just wanted to be sure!

Rare96- Its all good man, im actually gonna need a rebuild kit too!

So all the ls bearing will swap of to lq motors?

And jb451 is there an advantage to running the ls1 cranj in a lq block?
I thought the lq crank was a bit beefier

Yup, the bearings are the same. The ls1 crank is drill, so its lighter, the la crank is not, so its a bit stronger but heavier

Correct, the bearings all interchange across the entire LSx family of engines. The "P" bearings are typically used in your street/strip engines with the stock GM crankshaft. The "H" bearings can be used on the stock crank applications and is REQUIRED on the aftermarket crankshaft builds.

Your machine shop will more than likely have to add mallory to the LS1 crank in the LQ when its balanced or it WILL vibrate like hell. It may be cheaper to find a good used LQ4 crank imo

You can always count on at least one slug on aftermarket cranks. Due to the counter-weight clocking, some weights needs to be brought around for the Bob Weight. Our newer Compstar design, in the 4 inch stroke has only been taking one slug, if any at all depending on bob weight

Thanks for the link. How difficult are these to install? Do the axles need to be pulled? I apologize, I'm a complete noob.

Yes, most all of the parts in that kit require the rear-end to be disassembled.

bigdave619- honestly man, idk, i just know as long as the reluctor wheel is the same, you can use just about any on the ls/lq cranks.

Kwikcad500-Mallory? Whats that? And it will vibrate that bad? I was going to have the rotating assembly balanced, but i didnt know it would affect harmonics that bad.
