Oil presser hits zero . Video more vidos added post 9
GOT MY MOTOR BACK FROM GETTING IT REBUILT. TURN THE CAR ON AND THE OIL PRESSURE IS FINE AN 40 PSI BUT AS IT WARMS UP THE PRESSER DROPS TO ZERO AND CHECK GAUGES LIGHT COMES ON. AND ITS NOT A PINCKED O RING OR A BAD PUMP. I HAVE REPLACED OIL PUMP 3 TIMES AND HAVE CONNECTED AN OTHER OIL PRESSER GAUGE AND IT DOES THE SAME THING ANY IDEA BEFORE I PULL OUT THE MOTOR.

dont want to be a douche, but i think something is wrong in the motor. the guage is working. 0 with engine off and then comes up with rpm. couple things to look for are the barbell plug behind the rear cover, seal on the cam retainer, and of course the cam, rod, and main bearing clearances. the barbell and cam retainer can be looked at in the car, but the bearing are another story. why was it rebuilt, and is the builder familiar with ls motors? beautiful car BTW i had an 02 sunset orange ss.

sounds like the rebuild is ****, also in your first video, your engine cranks over extremely slow, sounds like something is physically holding the motor back from cranking, I.E. spun bearings, something without lubrication, your engine noise is because you have no oil pressure. motor needs to go back to who built it. they didnt do it right. just because someone went to SAM , doesnt mean there worth anything, its a great school, but you only get out of it what you put into it. something was left out or forgotten. a bad cam bearing shouldnt cause that much oil pressure loss, you dont have ANY oil pressure at all. also with your oil pressure getting worse as engine heat builds up generally means clearances are enlarging, causing your pressure loss.

I would drain the oil in the car now. Take the oil that is coming out of the car and rub it on your fingers, if you are feeling a lot of grit it is more than likely the bearing material. Another way to check is to take a small oil sample and and hit the oil sample with a flash light looking for "diamond" effect where the light will reflect off the metal and bronze flakes in the oil. Or process three use a oil filter cutter and cut the oil filter open and see if there is material in there. But I believe the motor is done. You keep running you may damage it farther then what has already happened.

First things first, get a mechanical gauge and confirm the bad pressure.
Once the bad pressure is confirmed, which I am sure is the case, STOP RUNNING THE CAR.
You definitely have a lower end knock/issue from what I can hear.
Pull the motor and have whoever built it fix their mistake.

changed out oil today, it had silver metal flakes the size of gains of salt very small on the drain plug and a little on the oil tray after oil change. guessing it normal for a first oil change after an engine build. the oil was very dark for only having 10 miles on the motor. spun the motor over with breaker bar and did not hear no rubbing or anything hold it back so im guessing it not one of the rod/main bearing, guessing its a cam bearing. which might be why oil drops to zero when motor warms up. any ideas guys
