I would absolutely LOVE to post a graph. I can't however because I didn't get a printout the tuners printer was not working at the time. SORRY guys I know you all might call BS which is fine I won't be mad. I have 3 witnesses though. I don't know if it was SAE corrected or not but the same day a bolton f-body put down 353/344. My car only boltons put down 340/350 on the same dyno different day though. Dyno #'s are just that #'s real performance is @ the end of a 1/4 mile or red light to red light.

if you're building an engine, I 100% agree.. badass heads and small cam is the way to go for a street motor... and badass heads are a requirement for a race motor.

that said, i think the question isnt a statement about wanting to keep the stock heads.. its about only doing one small engine mod for a little more power to reach a goal... without taking his daily driver apart with the possibility of longer downtime and more money invested.

personally, it sounds like you have it down good.
the guy talking to you has a sig with eighth mile times in the 7s, meanwhile I know stock internal guys that ran as fast, and cam only guys that were faster.

the diff is using what you have to the fullest potential. thats the secret to a good street/strip car. guys that just go out to get the biggest HP or huge cam end up with a car that sucks to drive on the street, crappy MPG, and alot of them (not all) just throw parts at their cars instead of learning how to make everything work together... so they dont use it to its full potential, leaving the door open for a smaller cammed, less modded car to beat them.

generalization? yes that was. but its also fairly accurate.

I made 449/410 with stick ls6 heads and a fast 90/90 on gforce dyno a few years back. Cam was a 238/242 605/610 115+3

If you switch to heads with smaller chambers that raise the compression, it will allow you to run a bigger cam without losing torque.

This is nothing new. Car companies have been doing this from the 60's. The hi performance engines always have higher compression with the bigger cams.

Its all about DCR

Those are great numbers. Did you use stock head gaskets, or did you run thinner ones?
