Yeah i bought the bake on stuff, i have had really good luck with it in the past. As long as you prep the area good it holds well, been on my suspension parts for almost a year without any cracks or chips.

Didnt get too much done today. Installed the new lifters and trays, installed the new LS6 valley cover and knock sensors, oil filter, and starter. Then I started to get wires ran and found a huge issue. Looks like a dumba$$ before melted a couple wires then just twisted them together and put some heat shink on there to hold them together. So I had to solder everything together. Then I completely pulled the wire loom apart and inspected it before putting it back together and taping it into place. Also was able to get my free power steering cooler mounted to the radiator and the lines attached, thanks to my lovely assistant (feet showing you perves). lol

This morning I was able to get a bit done before work. I finished wiring in the starter, installed the fuse boxes, and put 1 head on. Hopefully I will be able to install the other head tonight when I get out of work or maybe I will stare at the car and drink scotch.

Where did you get your power steering cooler? And also where the hell did you get that catch can? I have been trying to find one with a sight glass on the side like yours for a long *** time and the only one I could find was an import Greddy catch can.

I found the catch can on ebay. but it was in a wierd section, i was actually looking for a remote oil filter setup and the catch can popped up. The cooler was an aquired from a friend that manages a auto parts store.

Well I busted my a$$ alone all day today and was able to get the motor almost finished. I smoothed and painted the coolant overflow, then installed it. Put the pushrods and rockers in, then torqued down the valve covers. Pressure washed the power steering pump, installed the alternator. I fabricated a pulley installer, installed the harmonic dampener, front cover and seal, and finished the day by getting the water pump put on. I also have the passenger side header torqued down.

Couldn't leave well enough alone. Went back out and installed the plugs, wires, coils, and started running lines for the catch can. This helps the looks of the engine bay a lot I think.

Hey your rebuild looks great. Its going by fast.

What did you use to press your valve seals onto your guides? Sorry for a stupid question

I found a small brass airline fitting in my shop, that I placed over the seal and tapped them into place with a small tack hammer. Worked out really well and didnt crack or break any of the seals.

I must have the wrong seals cause mine will only go halfway down. The only way I can get them fully seated is with pliers. But its leaving plier teeth marks on the outside of the seal and I don't want to damage them.

Anyways, i'm anxious for results from your build. Good luck.

I honestly think that comp cams makes the best seals for LS style heads. The viton ones are really nice and the sealed well when i bench tested my heads. Not only that, but you dont have to worry about exhaust/intake seals being different. Im anxious for my build to be done as well man, thanks.

I didnt get too much done today. I installed the drivers side header, plugs, and coils. Finished the catch can hoses. Installed the flywheel, clutch, and bellhousing. Tomorrow I hope to get the trans in and all hooked back up and get some more of the front end parts reinstalled. Possibly start getting more of the fluids in and some of the systems partially bled. Thanks for the encouragement Dave, but working by yourself gets to be a pain in the a$$. Trust me I want my damn car back. Im sick of driving the wife's CAV (Commisary Assault Vehicle), its nice just not my cup-o-tea.
