Do you guys think i could swap the cam, heads, intake, throttle body, lifters, push rods, with the motor in the car. I dont own an engine crane and engine stand and dont want to buy one if not needed. If i swapped those things do you think i could hit 500 rwhp. And how hard is it to replace a clutch and trans by yourself... i would like to avoid paying others to work on it but i dont want to screw it up.

my personal opinion is that you are going to be in over your head, especially not knowing what kind and how much work this will be, that being said i do not want to discourage you from doing your work, but you should have someone that really knows what they are doing assist you in this or i feel you will really regret it and end up with a very long and possibly incomplete project
and just to be clear I am not trying to make a personal attack on you, just would hate to see you have your car down for way too long and spend too much money

do the simple stuff first like a lid and tb and get familiar with your car before you get in over your head. Research.

A good buddy of mine let me help him with his Head/Cam swap yesterday. So i guess i answered my own question. However i am having the Flywheel, Clutch, and Trans put in by a professional. I dont have a lift of do i trust myself with doing it right. If i replaced Heads, Cam, Intake lid, Intake manifold, Throttle body, Injectors, Headers, Glass packs. Would i A. hit 500 RWHP B. Need a new Trans, Rear end, Clutch (I think it will need to be upgraded) C. Would the bottom end get destroyed from the new top end D. Can i replace those parts without a new oil pump or anything else in the bottom of the motor.

I would expect a 400-450 rwhp....don't see too many people hit the 500hp mark out of a stock cube motor, especially on a streetable motor....most of the guys that I have seen come close to that 500 mark were spinning their engine to the moon.

Like said above, we all have to start learning somewhere, so get a lid and then do an intake and tb swap. start small and easy then work your way to the bigger stuff, get a good repair manual, and buy/ read a few books on building lsx motors.

A good/ big job for beginners is rod and main bolt replacement since you would have to support your engine and drop your front suspension just to get to the point where you are able to drop the pan

if you do rod/main bolts I'll personally recommend Katech rod bolts and ARP mains

I picked up a 1-ton crane on sale and a 20% off coupon from HF for 131.00 and some change total and a stand for 40.00 plus tax . If You are mechanically minded and You have or buy some of the specialty tools and You constantly ask questions on here and You get the rods honed out for the .002" bigger outside diameter rod bearings even with stock rod bolts and have machine shop bore , align hone mains , balance rot *** and vat block .......etc You should end up with a durable , long lasting engine provided You don't abuse it too much .
